Most of the old technology such as Delta-Star
and DOL starter in this heavy duty industry, are being phased out
and being replaced by our quality VSDs. The wear and tear on the
motors driving fans and conveyors in coal plants have been less
maintained due to pre stage of CT VSDs with proper high quality
motor protection (overload, over current and overvoltage trips) and
energy saving capabilities. From your single phase 230Vac to the
three phase 380Vac, 525Vac and 690Vac CT has drives that can suite
any application in the plant.
Project Houses
Most of the Power Station we have assisted all
had a common goal that would be to reduce down time, maintenance
and increase the plants’ efficiency by using less power when
creating power. With the advantage we have with retrofitting our
solutions into existing panels it made our clients lives easier.

One of the recent case studies would be the
solution that was done at a Municipal plant in Pretoria West, were
we have to control Stokers that feeds coal, secondary fans, ID and
FD fans. All these applications were controlled from on panel that.
The DOL starters produce mechanical snatch on high-inertia
components, with the variable-speed drives, the fans are started
gently and ramped up to its two speed set-points
Both of these applications were special in
their own right and needed a good drive that can do both
applications with no struggle. Thank you to the Commander SK the
solution was possible.
